Selfridges International Lounge

Timothy Graves and I made these globe lights for the new department at Selfridges. Designed by Waldo Works Studio we took their drawings and developed ideas of how we could realise them in brass and glass. 

The brief was to make the fittings look as simple and elegant as possible so we made every effort to hide all screws and joints.

The brass work was polished and then shellac lacquer was applied by hand to give a warm glossy finish. 

The numbers of each of the globes were hand sign written by Kevin Glashier with a font chosen by Selfridges.
